Playing around with different colors and figuring out which goes well with what has always enthralled me. I have noticed that wearing something from the calm, muted pastel shade always looks well in photographs, especially if you want your portraits to be dreamy. These muted shades can make you look relaxed yet cheerful, and these feelings, when captured, make the portraits look charming. Creating outfits around lighter color palettes also pairs really well if you are aiming to have a couple of soft and romantic portraits with your partner.

Limit the patterns

Patterns are indeed fun, but they can be very overwhelming at times too. Loud colors and bold patterns are big “no-no” for family portraits. They can create distractions and bury the emotions you want to capture in the photographs. However, a few people wearing light patterns might look good in a large group. I am not asking you to avoid patterns altogether. If you want, you can pick outfits with smaller patterns in sober colors that won’t scream for attention. For me, “Less is the new more”. San Jose Extended Family Photographer : The Alan Family

Today’s blog post, Im Featuring the Alapan Family. After so many years of capturing moments of Anohla’s family. It was time to turn the table and give way for her parents and her siblings family this time. Being with Anohla’s family was a breeze. They were the nicest, family oriented people i’ve ever work with. The love and the support for each is incredible that it created this unique bond with each other.

I have always wanted to do a photo session near an old barn. In fact this old barn is very old, that its actually a heritage museum. I thought to myself, someday I will be here and it would be a perfect place to do a photo session. When Anohla hired me to do a photosesson with her family, I couldn’t be more happier. I have scouted this place multiple times, and Im confident enough that the light would be awesome at this time of the day.

The rustic feel and the amazing texture of the barn makes it perfect venue for this perfect weather. The color and the position of the light is what I was digging that day. I am sucker for amazing natural light.

OUR LITTLE PRINCESS NICOLE

With so much excitement, I wanted to share this lovely session I had with my sweet daughter. Its been an amazing year, I can't believe my little princess is having her first birthday soon.

As a father photographer, I can't help but wait for this moment to come. I always wanted it to be super special for her. I told my wife Nicelle that I wanted a photoshoot for her, A kind of session that is been stylized and curated just like the one we saw on pinterest. It was a crazy idea, I never thought the preparation could take longer than the photoshoot. The funny thing is we prepared the whole detail and props thing for a week and we literally just did the session for 15min. It was just a little time but things turn out what I expected.

Nicole is naturally sweet and adorable. It wasn't so hard for us to have fun and enjoy the moment while we are making this moments infinite.  Me and my wife are so happy for having her. She has given us so much joy and happiness... I wanted this Ordinary day Extraordinary..HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY PRINCESS!!

THE CADAVILLO

Just when you thought everything was already in plot, the stage was already set. All of the sudden a day before, the weather forecast changed its course on a different direction. And rescheduling it was not even an option. Sometimes the only thing  that matters is just look at the bright side and enjoy the ride. Today I am featuring the CADAVILLOs. Im albeit excited coz they are new here on my blog.

I know that I have done this many times. Its just the timing was bogging me coz we don't normally get  heavy rain in California . Their trust and confidence ,gave me little boost  and prepare me to think ahead and create a contingent plan just incase worst case scenario happens. I believe that creativity comes when I am challenged. I just assure them that a cloudy, gloomy day will have soft, dreamy look to their pictures. I even show Dee some samples of different light scenario of my past shoots. Squeezing in some moment and running towards time was the best part of that day. I can't ask for a better day, it was meant for us.

It was raining frantically, the weather was cold and the ground was  wet. It could never been smooth without them. I was impressed with Dee for pulling out some awesome props and amazing preparedness with this session. This is my first time to do photo session in this area in coyote creek, but damn it was beautiful and magically enchanting.  The session just fell into everything that we had  planned for. I was so inspired by their ingenuity and transparency. It was only a brief session but all of this moments will last a lifetime. Enjoy the photos
