Filoli Gardens: Jimmy and Jackie
Jackie and Jimmy have been together for thirteen years, and their love for each other was clear throughout the photoshoot. From exploring different cities around the world to playing with their pup, Joe-Joe, this couple truly shines together!
Jimmy enjoys working on cars and gaming, and Jackie loves dancing and crafting - but together, they are self-proclaimed foodies. Alongside this affinity for food, the couple shares a love and appreciation for Twin Peaks, as this is where they started their journey as a couple.
When Jimmy's original plans to propose at Twin Peaks didn't go to plan, he instead surprised Jackie with a romantic proposal in their home. They then opted for an intimate SF city hall wedding on their 10-year anniversary - which suited the couple's relaxed personalities perfectly.
While the couple are already married, they are the perfect example that it's never too late to have an engagement photoshoot!
As a photographer, I love when couples choose two locations for their engagement photoshoot. Doing this allows for more variety and creativity in the photographs. We started at the Marin Headlands, near Rodeo Beach, in San Francisco. The natural landscape and gorgeous ocean views made the photos romantic and dreamy - perfect for Jackie and Jimmy's spring engagement photos. The couple wore casual attire that was both comfortable and fashionable.
Our second location, Filoli Gardens in Woodside, California, was even more beautiful. Although it rained the day of our photoshoot, Jackie and Jimmy didn't let that ruin their fun. The couple embraced the rain and didn't let it get in between them and their photos. While challenging at times, the diffused lighting and overcast sky made for some stunning shots. But don't take my word for it; the photos really speak for themselves.
Built in the early 1900s, Filoli is a magnificent estate with formal gardens, woodlands, and an orchard. Jackie and Jimmy explored the grounds, reveling in the beauty of this unique location. The couple were naturals in front of the camera, which made my job even easier! Their genuine laughter and love for each other truly make the photos come alive.
The results of this rainy day photoshoot are beautiful, and I am so thankful that Jackie and Jimmy chose me to document this special day. It was an honor to capture the love between these two wonderful people. From an SF City Hall wedding to Rodeo Beach and everywhere in between, I have had the pleasure of photographing many lovely couples at various locations across the Bay Area.
