Morgan Hill Photography: The Marshall Family
Life moves at an incredible pace, especially when you have a family to care for with small children, a job, and pets. You blink, and time seems to fly by, and before you know it, your kids are all grown up. Family photos are a way to capture moments in time. Precious memories families can cherish until the end of time.
Family photos are an incredible way to bring a family together, and it is much easier said than done. It's easy to get ready for a photoshoot and imagine it going perfectly. Let's face it, sometimes kids have other ideas, and occasionally, it's hard to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time. As a bay area family and portrait photographer, I have had the honor of photographing some incredible families and successfully helped them work through a lot of the challenges families face when getting ready for a family portrait.
In early October, Cecilia contacted me to schedule a session to have their photos taken together before the Christmas holiday rush. She had a vision of capturing her family through a candid photo experience with a gorgeous backdrop of the amazing yellow golden bushes that you can only experience in a California summer.
Cecilia and I worked closely together as she showed me the inspiration that she had pinned on her Pinterest Boards. We settled on the beautiful backdrop of Morgan Hill, California. Morgan Hill is a thriving community with ample outdoor spaces and dozens of parks filled with winding trails and oak-dotted picturesque landscapes, perfect for a warm October family shoot.
Like many families, Ceciia was hesitant and nervous about bringing her family together for a family photo. She was unsure how her two young daughters would behave and if they would cooperate during the photo shoot. Her husband was not a fan of taking pictures. I helped her feel comfortable and ready with a bit of reassurance, we decided on a date, and we were off.
In my experience, it's essential to make every person involved feel as comfortable and like they can be themselves at the moment. It's how we capture remarkable candid photos. The photo shoot turned out great, and everyone had a blast. I was able to have some fun with the kids and allow them breaks for them to let loose and play and capture the moments in between.
The entire shoot was beautiful, and everything was natural and pure. Everyone was able to be themselves, and even Peter enjoyed the moment. He was the sweetest with their daughters. I was thankful I could capture these incredible moments for this adorable family.
